Switching from Production -> Development

I seem to be having trouble with my app and I would like to see some more details of the issue, but I selected "Production" when the install program asked me. I now want to switch to Development mode. What would I need to modify to have this happen?

Thanks.

This is very simple to change.

Start -> Run -> regedit

Browse to key folder: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\FastCGI\.fcgi
You will see a subkey called Environment.

If you double click the environment key, you will see binary data in the left column, hex values in the middle column and plain text in the right column. A trick: instead of looking up hex values and hand editing each one, highlight "production" portion of the string "RAILS_ENV=production..." and change it to "development" by typing it on the keyboard. Make sure that the last three hex values "..." are 0D 0A 00 (null terminated newline). Restart IIS and you should be running development mode.

Reverse this process to switch back to production environment.

I will add a work item to document this procedure on the site with screen captures :)
